3-18-13 Ship of Ver. 1.0.1 Upgrade Kit.

All those ZiP Registered Users whose Serial Numbers fell into the upgrade category (*****AAA130 - AAA999 and AAB100 - AAB249******) were shipped the Version 1.0.1 Upgrade Kit as of the first cutoff date of March 14th. If you registered after that date your information was automatically added to the next list and will ship weekly from our data base. As a reminder- this kit is NOT the BX-25 Upgrade- which is still in final tooling) Thank you. Note: If your unit falls into this Serial Number Range-but includes the Special Orange Notice

When you get your kit please follow these helpful tips: (also reference ZiP Manual section pg 30 -41)

When it comes time to re-install the action rods....(Load and Re-Strike).. please do not have the Barrel Nut fully tightened. 

1. Barrrel nut should be 1/2 turn from bottom. 

2. Then start with the load rod......Turn screw to bottom BUT DO NOT TIGHTEN yet.    Try the action- should be "slippery". 

3. Install the Re-strike rod, and do the same. Only when you like the compression and tracking of the action do you set the Barrel Nut. 

Tighten the barrel nut with fingers to bottom... then - with wrench ...(std top) only snug up about 1/10 turn to sung. Try action again to confirm its still smooth.

4. NOW tighten Bolt Screws both about 1/3 turn past bottom.

If you feel binding at this point - just "break tension on the screw" on either rod and look at the end of the diamond shape as it sits in the body. It can touch but optimally you want that clear of friction. 

5. Continue to re-build as normal (Striker system, etc)

ZiP Factory Engineers have diagnosed some too tight tolerances in certain early units ONLY in this production range *****AAA130 - AAA999 and AAB100 - AAB249******

ZiP Upgrade Kit ver. 1.0.1 **** aka “Version 101 Kit” solves the sticky mags and sticky rods issue (which may have presented as failure to feed or eject) and allows ZiP to operate under a wider set of working conditions (including use of weaker ammos... which for many users are the only ones available... for the foreseeable future...)

The Version 101 Kit is Drop-in simple and directions are already contained in the ZiP Operator Manual and Guide for following normal disassembly. We are pleased to inform all Registered Warranty users of the pending availability of the drop - in kit. We will direct ship to all registered users in the number range above. Users must have  registered their Warranty to receive kit. There is no cost for drop-in kit.
